Leah– “Have You Missed the Boat…and are Just Floating on Adequacy?”
“Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. Even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with inexpressible and glorious joy!” 1 Peter 1:8
As humans we are born with a soul longing to be loved, and as Christians, we are called to fill that void with God. But it’s our choice. So many people today, even Christians, fill that void with material wealth, friendships, hobbies, music, and even our children. We put our hope is unstable things. Everyone around us has circumstances to work through: family members who are distant, some degree of financial problem, a place on their body they would like to just get rid of. Circumstances hinder our joy, making us believe that life will always be like this. “This is as good as it gets – it will never change. This is my destiny, so I am just going to float along and see where life takes me.” Stop floating through life, waiting for the “best” to come! Do not see your life as just adequate. Claim every moment for Him! Look at your blessings now and rejoice! Use the blessings for His Glory. Christ is a choice. Joy is His desire!
