A Place at the Table – Empty Nester Dinner
July 1 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm CDT
“My first baby is leaving the house this fall…and I’m having trouble breathing! And sleeping! And imagining her not at the dinner table! I’ve never been a helicopter mom, but is it crazy for me to feel this way?!”
“My third and final kiddo is entering his last year of college, and this summer he is taking classes for the first time. I feel a huge weight pressing on my chest, so happy for his growth and passion, but knowing the clock is ticking…and my daily mommy time will be non-existent soon. How do I celebrate him without dampening my encouragement with my tears? Do you have veteran moms to help me?”
“My house is quiet. My kids have been gone for years. I can still see the vacuum tracks in the carpet made from last week, and I have only 3 dirty dishes in my sink. I feel like I’ve lost my purpose! Kleenex are constantly in my pocket. Is this normal?! Or am I just being over dramatic?!”
** If YOU find yourself in any (or all, or different ones) of these situations…WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!!! In the last few months, we have had SEVERAL ladies contact us asking for a time and place to come together to get help and to just be around others walking the same roads. PLEASE JOIN US!!
** We will also have some guest speakers, resources and books, counselors and college kiddos, veteran moms, and of course…coffee and yummy food.
Whether you are starting the process, in the process, or have ended the process…ALL ladies are welcome to help and encourage one another, so we don’t feel like we are “crazy” for feeling this way, or the “only ones” that are hyperventilating and crying, or…even strangely happy and relieved.
