Job: A Story of Unlikely Joy by Lisa Harper – study led by Cyndy Gusler
Wednesdays, 4:30 – 6:30 pm

Joy is the constant companion of the woman who trusts in the Lord. And while you can find it in friends, family, and circumstances, unfailing, persistent joy will only ever overflow from your relationship with Jesus.

Just ask Job, the man from Uz who clung to God’s goodness while all his worldly joys were stripped away.

But how is it possible to hold onto such joy in times of sorrow?

In this 8 week study, discover the redemptive facet of Job’s suffering. Learn to view pain as a way to strengthen your faith, point others to the gospel, and trust in the Lord. Because His providence will never take you to a place where His grace will not sustain you.

Features:

  • Leader helps to guide questions and discussions within small groups
  • Personal study segments to complete between 7 weeks of group sessions
  • Seven interactive teaching videos, approximately 30-35 minutes per session, available for purchase or rent
  • Moving interviews with Christine Caine, Scott & Tracie Hamilton, Natalie Grant, and more

Benefits:

  • Learn to trust in God’s character.
  • Repair past or current wounds.
  • Realize God welcomes your difficult questions.
  • Let go of complacent Christianity.
  • Pursue joy even in the midst of personal pain.

Heaven by Randy Alcorn – study led by Cyndy Gusler
Tuesdays, 9:30 – 11:30 am

God has put eternity in our hearts. But what is Heaven really going to be like? What will we look like when we get there? What will we do? Will there be marriage, and other relationships as we know them? We all have questions about Heaven, and now after 25 years of research, Dr. Randy Alcorn has answers based on Biblical truths.

In the most comprehensive and definitive book on Heaven to date, Alcorn invites us to picture Heaven the way Scripture describes it: a bright, vibrant, and physical New Earth, free from sin, suffering and death, and brimming with Christ’s presence, wondrous natural beauty, and the richness of human culture as God intended it before The Fall.

From Prostitutes to Prayer Warriors – Using Your Past for His Glory – study written by Cyndy Gusler
Tuesdays, 6:00 – 8:00 pm

From prostitutes to prayer warriors, from housewives to regal queens, this 12 week study will investigate the stormy marriages, passionate desires for children, and tender friendships of 10-15 ladies of the Bible. We will discover how powerful their lives call out to us today, noting how a single decision in your life can change the next generation of the world.

*EXPERIENCE the heartaches of Tamar and Rebekah, the faithfulness of Mary and Anna, the “colorful” lifestyle of Rahab, and the simple prayerful heart of Hannah.

*EXPLORE the role of women in family, society and church, as well as their cultural laws and customs, and how man and God viewed them necessary.

*LISTEN to the personal testimonies of ladies who walked with God and now offer wisdom and Biblical truths to enable us to be the women God has intended.

Goals of This Class:

*Discover how everyday women make everyday choices that change the world

*Learn from their choices and mistakes as they are our role models

*Understand God’s character and promises

*Realize they’re mothers and wives like us, not dead Bible stories

*Find out who were the forerunners (politics, landowners, ministers, teachers, encountering God)

Senior to Senior Luncheon
Oct 5 @ 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm

Senior to Senior Luncheon

The Vineyard is partnering with Park Creek Adult Living Center for a series of luncheons where senior residents have the opportunity to talk and interact with “senior” young adults – ages 17-22. The luncheon will have guided discussion with questions like:

  • What was the best advice your mother ever gave you?
  • What has been the hardest thing you’ve had to go through this year?
  • What is something great about technology? What is NOT great about technology?
  • If you could change one thing in the world right now, what would it be?
  • What was one of your favorite memories from childhood?
  • Describe your best friend and tell why they are your best friend.

Too often, there is a disconnect between these two age groups, as both struggle to understand and relate to the other. Conversations, if they happen at all, can be awkward and superficial. These luncheons are a way to bridge that gap in some small way.

We are looking for 20 “senior” young adults who would like to extend and receive deeper understanding with the older generations. Please encourage any young adults you know in this age range to consider being a part of this outreach!

A donation of $15 or more is requested, which will go toward From The Vine Ministries’ capital campaign to purchase new property that will allow us to host events like this in the future. Please Register so we know you are coming!

We are also looking for sponsors for young adults who cannot donate. Please call Cyndy at 281-413-3256 or Email if you would like to sponsor.
