Hole in Your Story

“You can’t control birds flying over your head, but you can stop them from building a nest.”

I heard that quote from Pastor Joseph Prince years ago and it’s stayed with me ever since.

Why? It beautifully articulates our responsibility to think about what we’re thinking about. To recognize not every thought that lands in our minds is true.

And to the extent we embrace a lie is the extent we live in bondage.

The thoughts we let roll around in our minds eventually drop in our hearts. They become the narrative we rehearse to ourselves and to others.

But what if there are holes in your story?

What if the story you’ve been telling all these years is a lie? What if there’s a perspective on it you don’t have? One that would change your whole outlook?

Steven Furtick preached about that recently, in a way only he can. I share it with you because I’m a firm believer that what you believe changes your life. ????
